And if you and your partner have agreed to raise the opening 1 No Trump range, then:
 

Note: there are always 2 HCP's between the 1 NT opening and the 2 NT opening; and these 2 High Card Points are the DMZ. 
        Now that you know what and where the DMZ is, how do you bid such a hand. Simple: open the bidding one of a suit just as you would normally do. Hopefully your partner has at least 6 points and can respond. If this response is a suit at the one level, then jump to 2 No Trump. This DMZ bid of 2 NT can be made with a singleton.

The opener in example 1 and example 2 above is in the DMZ. This bid is usually forcing to game in either No Trump or in a suit.
        If the responder bids 1 No Trump (6 -  9 points), then the opener rebids 3 NT. Example 3 below.

4. OPENER         RESPONDER         1                       2          3 NT

And if the responder bids 2 of a lower ranking suit (10+ points), then the opener jumps to 3 No Trump. See example 4 above. In the last two examples the responder has the option to continue bidding. He can bid game in a suit or investigate slam possibilities.
        Of course if responder supports openers Major suit with a simple raise (6 - 9 points), then opener jumps to game in that Major. Example 5  below.

With a Minor suits raise, opener might try 3 NT or game in that minor. Example 6 above. 
        What if the responder bids a Major and the opener is in the DMZ with 4 card support for that Major? Easy, see example 7.
