| NEGATIVE DOUBLES |
| Negative Doubles* are not the
opposite
of Positive Doubles (whatever they might be). And they
really
should be called Competitive Doubles. The pejorative connotation
also does not apply, since Negative Doubles are a powerful bidding
tool.
Here’s how they work. Negative Doubles are made only after an
overcall
of your partner’s bid. If the overcall is a major then
the Negative Double shows four cards in the other major. If you bid the other major then you show five or more cards in that major. *Maybe they are
