| SIMPLE OVERCALL An Overcall is really a Bid (one of the 35 possible Bids). It is done by bidding a suit OVER an opponent’s Bid. The opponent's Bid could be an opening Bid, a response, or a rebid. w 10 - 16 points w Five card suit w Two honors in the suit (one honor if six card suit?) w NEVER OVERCALL: a four card suit a suit with no honors opponent’s suit |

| NO TRUMP OVERCALL w Same requirements as a 1 No Trump opener. 16 - 18 HCPs and a balanced hand. w A good stopper in opponent’s bid suit. Preferably two. w Bid No Trump at the lowest possible level over opponent’s opening bid. |

| PRE-EMPTIVE OVERCALL
w Same requirements as a pre-emptive opener; long suit and under 10 points. w Make a jump bid your suit at the 2, 3, 4 or 5 level; depending on the suit’s length. |
